The summit co-exiting with 66th China Electronics Fair and
Asia Electronics Exhibition in Shanghai, largest electronics
shows in China
The third year of EMS China will come in November in
Shanghai, a golden season of year in east China. With last
two year experiences of organizing the summit and improved
understanding of the electronics manufacturing industry, we
will manage a two-day event this year that can deliver
better focused business discussion.
With the trend to outsource to China, tier one
international OEM and EMS providers have built their
business and operations in China. The proven success is the
2/3 of China’s electronics exports are contributed by
multinational companies. However, next wave of outsourcing
will be tier one Chinese OEM to seek international EMS to
develop export markets and tier two international OEM to
seek Chinese EMS providers, according to China Outlook
Consulting Inc, a Alberta based market research firm. There
are increased medium sized US OEM/ODM seeking low cost
engineering and manufacturing partners in China.
In the new business context, Chinese OEM will outsource
high volume and low mix consumer and communications
products, and tier two International OEM would outsource
mid-volume and mid-mix industry, medical and automotive
electronics products to serve either international market or
penetrate to Chinese market.
EMS China 2005 will bring related industry people around
the table to discuss how OEM and EMS can effectively work
together. International OEM and EMS providers will bring
international practice to Chinese counterparties, whereas,
Chinese OEM and EMS will address their demand and specialty.
More importantly, the international attendees will learn
outsourcing implication in a Chinese context, and Chinese
attendees will learn international practices. This is the
reason that we set summit scheme—benchmarking and management
of OEM/EMS relationship.
To serve medium size OEM and EMS, we will bring electronics
distributors and software companies to address supply chain
and design issues. Chinese counterparties, in general, face
challenges of inadequate IT and supply chain infrastructure
which need supports of third party service companies such as
supply chain solutions and effectively use of ERP systems.
With such business needs in mind, the conference is
developed in two separate topics.
Day One:Training Workshop: Operations Discussion
Day two:EMS Industry Summit: Industry Strategic Discussion
